Finding the right modification for your squat can be a game changer in helping you build strength and improve upon the squat movement. Modifications can help you perform a movement while maintaining technique. In episode two of Back 2 Basics, Ronald Trujillo goes over the squat modifications for individuals at different stages of their workout program.
The first tool Ron uses is a slant board. For individuals experiencing tightness in their claves, this piece of equipment can be great for allowing a greater range of motion during the squat. The next tip that Ron provides is using a chair or study piece of equipment to hold onto. This allows you to decrease the load on your lower extremities and perform the squat movement.
